Salvation

Can we truly comprehend just how much God loves us? John 3:16 says “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”. He gave His Son.  He stood back as Jesus suffered on the cross and gave up His life for you and me.  And I know I am not worth that sacrifice but He believes I am and He believes you are.  He loves us that much.

Since everyone has sinned and God is perfect, God cannot accept us the way we are.  We must all face the judgment.  Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…”  Ezekiel 18:4 says, “The soul who sins shall die.”  Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed to men to die once, but after this the judgment.”

But the good news is Jesus is our path to Salvation.  John 14:6 reminds us Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  He has already paid the price and washed our robes in His blood.  And all we need to do is accept Him as our Savior, repent and ask for forgiveness and allow Him to work in our hearts and souls.

This world is not our real home – Heaven is.  Can we even begin to imagine what Heaven must be like?  Spending eternity with our Heavenly Father and our savior Jesus Christ. No more fear, death, illness, evil, worry, pain or suffering.  For that I want to be part of the in crowd.  And many of those I love are waiting for me there.  Many of those you love are waiting for you too.  It’s going to be a heavenly reunion.

Salvation is a gift – one He wants to give to each of us.  2 Peter  3:9 further proves how badly He wants us to be saved.  “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Won’t you take His hand and walk with Him awhile?  Rest in His loving arms and on the promises of God.  I’ll be praying for you.
